Junior high student Shoyo Hinata becomes obsessed with volleyball after seeing Karasuno High School play in the Nationals, inspired by their short but talented wing spiker, the "Little Giant." Despite being the sole member of his school's volleyball club, Hinata's determination leads him to form a team in his final year. They lose their first tournament game to Tobio Kageyama, a prodigy setter known as the "King of the Court," sparking a rivalry.

Hinata joins Karasuno High, only to find Kageyama there too. Karasuno, once a powerhouse, is now called the "Wingless Crows." However, Hinata's athleticism and Kageyama's setting skills form a dynamic duo, creating an explosive volleyball tactic. Together, they aim to restore Karasuno's reputation and reach the Nationals, pushing each other to reach their full potential and forming strong team bonds along the way.
